Pastor George Moore, Jr. Becomes Certified NAMI Sharing Hope/FaithNet Facilitator to Advance Mental Health Support for Justice-Impacted Individuals
Waukegan, IL – March 6, 2025 – From Lock Up to Legacy proudly announces that its founder, Pastor George Moore, Jr., has officially become a NAMI Sharing Hope/FaithNet Facilitator. Through this certification, provided by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Pastor Moore is now equipped to lead mental health awareness and support initiatives in faith-based and African American communities, directly benefiting justice-impacted individuals.
Addressing Mental Health in Reentry
Many formerly incarcerated individuals struggle with PTSD, depression, anxiety, and emotional trauma, yet stigma and lack of access often prevent them from seeking help. By becoming a NAMI Sharing Hope/FaithNet Facilitator, Pastor Moore is committed to breaking the silence around mental health, providing resources, and fostering faith-based healing opportunities for returning citizens.
How This Initiative Benefits From Lock Up to Legacy
Mental Health & Reentry Support – The program will now include structured mental wellness education to help individuals navigate the emotional challenges of reintegration.
Faith-Based Healing Approach – By blending mental health awareness with spiritual guidance, From Lock Up to Legacy will provide a culturally relevant and trauma-informed approach to healing.
Expanding Mental Health Resources – Partnering with NAMI allows From Lock Up to Legacy to offer peer support groups, educational workshops, and professional mental health connections.
Strengthening Reentry Programs – Mental health is a key factor in successful reintegration. Pastor Moore’s role as a facilitator ensures that From Lock Up to Legacy offers comprehensive, faith-centered support to those transitioning back into society.
Pastor Moore’s Vision for Mental Wellness in Reentry
"Mental health is a crucial yet often overlooked part of the reentry journey. As a NAMI facilitator, I want to make sure justice-impacted individuals have the tools, support, and faith-based guidance they need to heal and build a future beyond incarceration," said Pastor Moore.
